Pepperl+Fuchs acquires Ethernet specialists Comtrol
Pepperl+Fuchs, a developer of industrial automation technology, has acquired Comtrol Corporation. The US company is active in the field of network and industrial data communication.
Mannheim-based company Pepperl+Fuchs has announced its acquisition of the business of Comtrol Corporation effective February 01, 2019, and the associated establishment of the new company Pepperl+Fuchs Comtrol Inc., headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota. For over 35 years, the US company has been specializing in Ethernet-based industrial communication and IO-Link Master gateways and developing solutions for a wide range of security, energy, industrial automation, and traffic and transportation applications.
Comtrol’s technologies will complement Pepperl+Fuchs’ portfolio of sensor and communication solutions for factory and process automation and enhance the product range for Industry 4.0. “An enhanced Pepperl+Fuchs IO-Link product range will help our customers improve the flow of data from field devices to the control level and the cloud. Customers will be able to turn to a single, trusted partner to help develop their newest digital business processes,” says Reiner Müller, Manager of the Factory Automation Division at Pepperl+Fuchs.
