. The young Vienna-based company developed ‘
AIRSKIN
’, a soft sensor skin that is attached directly to industrial robots. This sensitive surface helps humans and robots collaborate safely during series production. In the ‘Companies’ category,
TGW Logistics
from Wels in Upper Austria won the award, with its self-learning and flexible picking system ‘
Rovolution
’, which can collect goods and products to fulfill predefined orders fully autonomously. In the ‘Universities’ category,
Graz University of Technology
came out on top, with its fully-automated delivery system ‘Jetflyer’. Higher technical education institute
Technische Lehranstalt Wolfsberg
won the ‘Schools’ category, with a new robotic drive featuring a user-friendly interface. The special award for team spirit went to Upper Austrian company
DTF Maschinenbau
for its research project ‘Du=Roboter, Ich=Mensch, Wir=Team’ (‘You=robot, I=human, we=team’).
