One focus of maxon's product offensive is on advanced robotics solutions, in particular High Efficiency Joints (HEJ). These compact, highly integrated quasi-direct drive actuators (QDD) combine motor, gearbox, sensors and electronics in a single, robust housing. Following the successful launch of the HEJ 90 (140 Newton metres), the HEJ 70 with 62 Newton metres of torque is now available – ideal for smaller robots. The HEJ 50 variant, which has been available since the beginning of 2026, is also in production. The powerful HEJ ‘Hercules’ with over 250 Newton metres, on the other hand, is still in development. With this scalable platform, maxon is consistently pursuing its goal of shortening development times and reducing the overall costs of modern robotics. Added to this are further highlights that promise performance, efficiency and safety in industrial and robotic applications.

Compact high-performance servo drive with safety certification

Particularly noteworthy here is the new compact high-performance IDX 70 servo drive, which combines high power density with minimal size, making it ideal for mobile robotics, cobots and driverless transport systems. The drive is said to offer an excellent torque-to-weight ratio and, thanks to its robust design, is suitable for demanding industrial environments. The certified Safe Torque Off (STO) and Safe Brake Control (SBC) functions enable use even with the highest safety requirements.

Flexible, dynamic, efficient

The new EC frameless DT 50 is a brushless motor without a flange and is now also available with integrated Hall sensors. The design allows maximum flexibility during installation, for example in joint units, machine tools or exoskeletons. Its high torque density and energy efficiency enable precise, dynamic movements with low heat generation. Sizes 38, 65, and 85 millimetres will also be available in the course of the coming year.

Precision in the smallest of spaces

With the new GSW shaft gears, maxon is expanding its portfolio specifically for applications with the highest demands on accuracy in torque transmission. The backlash-free principle enables precise motion sequences with minimal installation space – ideal for robot arms, surgical instruments, or optical applications. In combination with maxon motors, this creates a perfectly coordinated drive system from a single source – currently available in diameters of 55 and 62 millimetres. Further sizes and variants are in the pipeline.

Compact controllers with integrated safety

The new positioning controllers with certified STO function up to SIL 3 / PL e category 3 are designed to combine state-of-the-art control characteristics, performance and safety in the smallest of spaces. They enable precise motion control in modular machines, collaborative robots or autonomous vehicles. Thanks to versatile interfaces, they can be seamlessly integrated into existing automation systems.

Multi-axis controller for networked systems

The MiniMACS6AMP4-IF1 Profinet expands the successful MACS family with a version featuring Profinet communication. This makes the controller a powerful link between motion control and industrial network integration. Especially in production lines or robotics platforms, it enables efficient coordination of multiple axes and processes in real time.
