Pepperl+Fuchs, a leading specialist in factory and process automation, has expanded its portfolio to include inductive distance sensors with IO-Link. With these sensors, the Mannheim-based company is presenting a new approach in the field of inductive sensor technology. The proximity switches with integrated condition monitoring functions determine not only the position but also, for the first time, the speed and acceleration of damping elements. They monitor critical process steps such as braking, acceleration, and opening or closing operations. This makes them ideal for predictive maintenance.

With a switching frequency of up to 1,400 hertz, the inductive sensors provide reliable measurement even in high-speed applications with object speeds of up to three meters per second. Users benefit from faster throughput times and increased productivity and efficiency. The extensive range of options, including numerous housing shapes and sizes, different measuring ranges, and various connection and output types, is designed to allow for quick and easy integration. In addition, users can customize the measurement speed and accuracy to their individual application by selecting filter modes.
