The watchdog will bark in case of network problems
Industrial networks are absolutely critical infrastructures. Conventional monitoring however often falls short. A new AI solution looks for anomalies throughout the network.

At its developer conference Dash , New York-based startup Datadog unveiled a new solution called Watchdog. It is an AI-based control and management platform that autonomously searches for network performance anomalies. While previous applications from the APM environment (application performance management) needed to be set to monitor certain parameters, Watchdog can autonomously monitor the entire network and all running programs for any abnormalities.
In addition, the machine learning module Forecast , which was presented back in December, is expected to help predict problems and vulnerabilities days, weeks, and even months in advance, giving the administrator ample time to take preventive action. Datadog refer to this method as a kind of "predictive disaster" for IT infrastructure.
