Having started out in dental technology, Thorsten Koras went on to found KORAS GmbH, specializing in recycling systems for precious metals, refining plants, incinerators, laboratory technology and treatment systems for exhaust gases and wastewater. One particular focal point is electro-polishing - described by KORAS as the gentlest and cleanest industrial production method for giving jewelry smooth, ultra-pure surfaces that can then be easily further processed. The tried-and-tested compact KORAS Aqua-Pol system generates precise, rapid and cost-effective results and only takes up a small amount of space. But KORAS is proving that it’s possible to go even smaller – the Aqua-Pol Micro on show in Hannover has been specially designed for small parts without using a hanger or loop and, in contrast to its slightly larger stablemate, processes the parts as bulk goods.

Its ingenious design featuring internal running rotors makes the Aqua-Pol Micro highly compact. What's more, the electro-polishing process takes just 30 to 45 minutes for 250 to 300 ml of bulk goods, depending on the size and condition of the pieces. The electrolyte is crucial for this rapid process and, with this in mind, KORAS GmbH has developed a process liquid that is designed to outperform conventional electrolytes in terms of quality. Purity, mixing ratio, efficiency and, most importantly, maximum service life – the electrolyte from KORAS is claimed to offer measurable benefits, particularly when used with the two Aqua-Pol devices.
