Delicate things need to be treated with care, which is why robots that are used to treat sensitive surfaces need to be able to adjust the force they apply and adapt intuitively to a surface at the moment of contact. The unique Active Compliant Technology (ACT) developed by FerRobotics, the technology leader in contact-sensitive automation, promises the perfect solution. According to its developers, this new Industry 4.0 standard closes a gap in automation options and thus elevates tricky manual tasks such as grinding, polishing, deburring and handling to an unprecedented new level.

FerRobotics has extended the possibilities even further with its recently unveiled Active Angular Kit (AAK). This precisely coordinated system package, consisting of Active Compliant Technology and an angle grinder optimized for robot use, is designed as an integrated end-to-end solution for automating industrial grinding processes. By controlling all process parameters such as rotation speed, contact force and feed rate to suit individual needs, the AAK is set to ensure the highest process quality. What’s more, despite its compact and lightweight design, the grinding unit is exceptionally robust and entirely suitable for industrial use. FerRobotics reports that it delivers as much as twice the output of conventional units, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
