Hannover. The German trade fair market has two major shows specializing in lightweight construction: the Industrial Supply show at HANNOVER MESSE and COMPOSITES EUROPE in Düsseldorf. The organizers of these two shows, Deutsche Messe and Reed Exhibitions, respectively, have now announced that in future they will be pooling their expertise in the lightweight construction trade fair market. The new cooperative venture relates primarily to the design and composition of lightweight-themed display areas and visitor promotion.
The whole basis for the cooperation is that the two shows, Industrial Supply and COMPOSITES EUROPE, are highly complementary. While they both target the same visitor audiences, they differ markedly in terms of offering and thematic focus. Consequently, attendance at both shows delivers real value for key user industries of lightweight solutions, such as the automotive and aerospace engineering sectors, the construction industry, electrical engineering and medical technology.
COMPOSITES EUROPE – the European Trade Fair and Forum for Composites, Technology and Applications – is the biggest composites industry showcase in Germany, Europe’s leading market for composites. It provides the complete picture on fiber-reinforced polymers, spanning raw materials, manufacturing processes and finished products and featuring the latest lightweight innovations in automotive and aerospace engineering, boat building, wind energy technology and the construction industry.
Lightweight construction is one of the big overarching themes at HANNOVER MESSE, where it features especially prominently at Industrial Supply, the Leading Trade Fair for Innovative Subcontracting Solutions and Lightweight Construction. Located in Hall 6 at HANNOVER MESSE, Industrial Supply is where companies from around the world go to showcase their latest lightweight solutions, featuring the full spectrum of materials. Among the fair’s highlights is the Lightweight Construction/Solutions Area with its large-scale exhibits, live demonstrations and displays on current project studies. The exhibitions are complemented by the adjacent Materials and Lightweight Construction Forum, where experts discuss the latest real-world solutions.
"HANNOVER MESSE and COMPOSITES EUROPE will complement each other’s offering to cover off all areas of lightweight construction that are relevant to the industrial market," said Marc Siemering, Deutsche Messe’s Senior Vice President for HANNOVER MESSE. "In Hannover, trade visitors benefit from our multi-material focus as well as from the synergies that arise from the simultaneous presence of all user industries and the fair’s high level of international participation."
"The cooperation will benefit the market by combining the strengths of both trade fairs. For COMPOSITES EUROPE, it is a continuation of an ongoing drive to expand the show’s cross-industry network. The cooperation further strengthens and expands the role of COMPOSITES EUROPE as the composites industry’s leading broker of relationships in the world’s most important market," said Olaf Freier, the Event Director of COMPOSITES EUROPE and materials trade fairs at Reed Exhibitions Deutschland GmbH.
The cooperative venture has also been well received by the composites industry. "The two events complement each other perfectly – HANNOVER MESSE’s Industrial Supply with its global importance, and COMPOSITES EUROPE with its closeness to the market," commented Dr. Elmar Witten, Managing Director of the German Federation of Reinforced Plastics (AVK). "The cooperation aligns extremely well with the innovation cycle in our industry and ensures that the entire breadth and depth of the topic is perfectly covered in Germany."
