Hannover, Germany. FARO Europe GmbH & Co. KG, pi4 robotics GmbH and WHN Technologies GmbH – these are the three companies selected by the jury as nominees for this year’s ROBOTICS AWARD. Just one of these shortlisted firms will be crowned the winner on the Tuesday of the trade fair. Of course, to reach the final is also a major achievement. The international prize for applied robotics solutions has been awarded by HANNOVER MESSE in cooperation with the Robotation Academy and the trade journal Industrieanzeiger since 2011.

The prize-giving ceremony will commence at 3:30 p.m. with a welcoming speech by Dr. Jochen Köckler, Member of the Managing Board of Deutsche Messe. Olaf Katzer, Head of International Job Family Development at Volkswagen AG’s Volkswagen Academy, will then introduce the nominees. The winner will be announced at around 4:05 p.m. and the award will be presented by Olaf Lies, the Minister of Economic Affairs, Labor and Transport for the German state of Lower Saxony.

There will be time for questions from the press after 4:15 p.m. Journalists can also clarify any further details during the small buffet afterwards.

FARO Europe GmbH & Co. KG reached the final round thanks to FARO FRIM. FRIM stands for Factory Robo Imager Mobil. It is a collaborative mobile robotic platform for 3D measurement in manufacturing and laboratory environments.

A humanoid robot named workerbot3 enabled pi4 robotics GmbH from Berlin to get a place in the final. This robot is used for manufacturing, handling and inspection tasks where high flexibility is required.

The third innovation vying for the prize is the X-Arm robotic hand made by WHN Technologies GmbH . It comprises a modular multi-axle module that is located at the end of a manually guided manipulator and can be freely adjusted and rotated in all three spatial directions.
