Poland is a partner country of this year's edition of the largest and most important industrial event in the world. The Polish national stand will occupy about 1.2 thousand m2 of the exhibition space at the Hannover Messe 2017 fair. 10 Polish companies will present there their innovative products and solutions. Apart from them, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, eight regions, five Special Economic Zones and the Office of Technical Inspection will be present at the stand. In total, during the exhibition, also in the general exhibition space, about 200 native enterprises, including start-ups, will present their offer.

The motto of the Hannover Messe 2017 fair is "Integrated Industry – Creating Value". This idea combines various subjects related to, e.g., the digitisation of production (Industry 4.0) or energy efficiency. The activities of the Polish Government, set out in the Responsible Development Strategy, in particular those concerning the reindustrialisation and innovation, go well with this motto.

The Hannover fair is an excellent opportunity for the comprehensive promotion of the Polish economy in the international arena and for building strong Polish brands in the field of high technology. Our products are characterised by the very high quality, and the Polish companies successfully operate in foreign markets and are appreciated by even the most demanding customers.

Smart means Poland

The motto of our presence at the Hannover fair, as a partner country, is SMART MEANS POLAND. The logo is a K-dron – an ideal figure which is a square inscribed in another square. Its area is both symmetrical and asymmetrical, concave and convex. The use of the Polish national colours in the K-dron represents the creative and innovative potential of the Polish economy.

National stand

The stand with an area of about 1.2 thousand m2 will be a place to present the achievements of the Polish economy. It will be located in the main hall of the fair complex. 10 Polish companies will present their products there. These companies are:

  • Solaris Bus & Coach S.A. – global producer of buses, including electric buses,
  • Ursus Bus S.A – global producer of vehicles, including electric vehicles;
  • Transition Technologies – company offering IT and engineering systems for the industry, mostly for the energy industry;
  • Saule Technologies – author of a new technology to produce flexible perovskite-based photovoltaic cells;
  • Ekoenergetyka- Polska – producer of charging infrastructure for electric buses and vehicles;
  • DT Poland – producer of modern software;
  • Zortrax – producer of 3D printers and printing materials used in advanced design for the industry;
  • Medcom – one of the most innovative producers of energy electronic equipment in the world;
  • H. Cegielski – Poznań S.A. – company with the tradition of more than 170 years, offering technologically advanced products from the sectors of energy, transport, environmental engineering, production of steel structures;
  • TMA Automation – company designing and building modern solutions in the field of: robotics, automatics, mechanics and machine vision systems.
  • It will possible to become familiar with the achievements of Polish science and technological thought at the stands of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, National Centre for Research and Development, as well as SciTech Poland.

    Also, 8 voivodeships: Lubelskie, Lubuskie, Małopolskie, Opolskie, Pomorskie, Śląskie, Świętokrzyskie, Zachodniopomorskie, 5 Special Economic Zones (Łódzka SEZ, Kostrzyńsko-SEZ, Wałbrzyska SEZ, Mielecka SEZ, Tarnobrzeska SEZ) and the Office of Technical Inspection will be present at the Polish national stand.

    Stand of SciTech Poland

    On 420 m2, the students – winners of the „Best of the Best" project will present their inventions. Among them, we will find a robot which teaches the kids how to programme (Photon), Mars rover, autonomous electric vehicle or solar car. The innovative technologies will also be presented by the universities and scientific institutes. The Faculty of Physics of the University of Warsaw will show light-powered soft microrobots and the Jagiellonian University – a new PET tomograph. In total, 27 innovations with the Polish quality mark will be presented at the stand.

    Start-up zone

    In Hannover, there will be also 18 new innovative companies, including 3, which as part of the „Start-ups in the Palace" competition, were presented the award of the Minister of Finance and Development. They will present their offer in the start-up zone. These companies are:

  • XTPL – technological company which develops the patent-protected technology of printing ultrathin conductive lines;
  • HussarTech – start-up dealing with the commercial application of the invention which is hybrid material with antibacterial, fungicidal and antiviral properties;
  • Billon Group – technological company which created the first global system of electronic money enabling transactions in PLN and other currencies in line with the regulations and without any time and place restrictions.
  • Support for companies

    The Ministry of Development has developed a promotion programme allowing the economic operators to apply for co-financing their participation in the fair. The funds come from the Smart Growth Programme. The competition was conducted by the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development. The call for applications started on 12 January 2017 and ended on 13 February 2017.

    Thanks to a total of PLN 2.3 million from the Smart Growth Programme, 31 companies will be able to present their offer at their own stand. They will also have an opportunity to meet business partners in the Polish zone.

    The Polish Agency for Enterprise Development also offers the economic operators with an opportunity to participate in the international cooperation exchanges held during the fair. These are the International Cooperation Exchange EEN (24-28 April 2017) and Technology Cooperation Days (25-27 April 2017). So far, more than 80 Polish companies have registered to participate in those events.

    Events during the Hannover Messe fair

    A special event related to the Polish presence at the fair is the formal opening ceremony, which will be held on 23 April in the evening. During the gala attended by the representatives of the highest authorities of the states and companies present at the fair, our country will be presented. The coordinator of this event is the Polish Investment and Trade Agency. It also is responsible for the opening of the national stand scheduled on the following day.

    On 24 April 2017, after opening the national stand with participation of Chancellor Angela Merkel, Prime Minister Beata Szydło, Deputy Prime Ministers Mateusz Morawiecki and Jarosław Gowin and the Polish delegation, a visit to the stands of the Polish and German exhibitors is envisaged.

    Deputy Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki will also visit the stands of the Polish companies.

    During the stay of the Polish delegation in Hannover, bilateral meetings with the government delegations of the countries participating in the fair are also planned.

    On 26 April 2017, it is planned to organise a traditional evening of the partner country – Partner Country Night.
