AI makes process planning in the building materials industry sustainable
In order to make planning in the geobuilding materials industry more sustainable, HSBI, together with Naue GmbH & Co. KG, has developed AI-based planning processes that rely on resource-saving solutions right from the start. The result: An internal company web platform called Naue Wiki.
In the future, it will calculate the CO₂ balance of different planning variants of a construction project and generate the most sustainable solution. This allows massive savings in costs and materials. At the Hannover Messe, the research team is presenting its web platform, which visitors can try out on site and ask their own questions.
Circular return of components in the automotive industry
In order to reuse components that have already been used, trained employees have to check them laboriously and often by hand. This is costly and time-consuming. Together with partners from industry and research, the Institute for Data Science Solutions (IDaS) at HSBI has successfully developed a use case that can replace this manual process: By using machine learning (ML), complex visual inspection tasks for used components, for example of truck couplings, carried out automatically. The demonstrator on display at the trade fair enables visitors to bring used components into the testing system and observe the automated testing process and sorting.
