The Fast Concept Modeller in CATIA V5 offers a wide range of functions,
to support designers in recurring activities. Examples include automatically extracting meta information such as part masses from CATProducts to check the design status against set targets, automatically detecting flanges and applying spot welds with parameters such as spacing, edge distance and number, as well as simplified section editing and automated geometry generation with cross sections based on generators such as centerlines. Typically, when a design state is evaluated virtually, there is a handoff to the simulation called "over-the-fence." This means that the CAD file knows nothing about the simulation's requirements, creating unnecessary friction and extra work. With our technology, this break between CAD and CAE can be closed seamlessly and fully automated evaluation loops are possible directly from CAD. This leads to greater efficiency in the company and increases employee motivation by significantly reducing routine activities and shifting them to the computer.
