Incheon is rapidly transforming into a leading hub for future mobility and robotics, driven by an ambitious city-level roadmap and large-scale national projects.
In the automotive sector, Incheon is implementing a comprehensive Future Vehicle Industry Promotion Plan(2022-2026), investing about 110.4 billion KRW to help traditional auto parts suppliers shift toward electric, autonomous, and connected cars through R&D, consulting,and digital manufacturing support.
Robotics is anchoroed by Incheon Robot Land in Cheongna, a nationally backed cluster of around 0.77㎢ that combines R&D, production, testing, and experience facilities, and was recently designated an urban high-tech industrial complex to attract global players with tax benefits and expansion incentives.
In future air mobility, Incheon is one of Korea's frontrunners in UAM, having established one of the country's first municipal UAM plans and ordinance and now preparing urban demonstration flights along the Ara Waterway to capture a share of the fast-growing global UAM market.
At the same time, Incheon International Airport is partnering with Hyundai Motor Group to piolot next-generation mobility solutions-including autonomous shuttles, eco-friendly vehicles, and advanced air mobility concepts-making the airport a living testbed for smart mobility innovation.
