High voltage cables with XLPE insulation are produced applying the most recent insulation technology in triple sprouting under simultaneous depositing of insulating and semi-conductive layers within the same head (triple extrusion). In the process are used special materials of exquisite purity, which are handled in especially clean atmosphere.
In the production is paid special attention to the fact that the cable core should not get in contact with water, i.e. that the insulation remains dry during the entire production process. In this way is prevented the appearance of electrochemical treeing effect during the entire lifetime of cables. It means that the expected lifetime of such cables is very long. To achieve that, ELKA applies a special dry method of cross-linking and insulation cooling (CDCC method - Completely Dry Curing and Cooling method/ For that purpose is used inert nitrogen gas.
The Quality assurance system is confirmed by ISO 9001 Certificate, issued in 1997, and the Environment management system by ISO 14001 Certificate, issued in 2002 by the company SGS International Certification Services AG from Switzerland.
