Hybrid wind turbine - turbomachine for generating energy from wind and Solar energy using slat fields: The patented hybrid wind turbine can use not only wind but also solar energy. The impeller unit enables the absorption of flow and solar energy.
A flexible slat system replaces classic rotor blades. Solar cells are integrated into this, which means that additional solar radiation can be converted into energy. This significantly increases the power density and the time frame for operation.
The technical properties of the hybrid wind turbine significantly expand the range of applications for wind turbines.
The hybrid wind turbine combines the advantages of both a small wind turbine and a photovoltaic system. By reducing the space requirement and simultaneously generating energy, this results in a significant increase in power density. The expansion of the operating cycle, i.e. the temporary use of the wind and solar phases, enables energy generation over a significantly broader period of time, both on a daily average and especially on an annual average.
The joint project is co-financed by the BMWK as a model project within the Enterprise Revier funding framework.
