Jointly approaching the transnational opportunities and challenges of digitalization is a core idea in standardization on Industrie 4.0. The goal for successful international standardization for the design of digital ecosystems is to harmonise Industrie 4.0 concepts on a global level and make them applicable in the future. The SCI 4.0 acts as a bridge between the strategically oriented work of the Platform Industrie 4.0, the practical implementations of Labs Network Industrie 4.0 and the operationally oriented international standardization.
For this purpose, SCI 4.0 places the recommendations of the German standardization roadmap Industry 4.0 in the strategic context of the mission statement 2030. The stabilization of concepts through the bilateral and trilateral dialogue is essential from a German perspective to synchronize this work with the corresponding international standardization bodies.
Our partner countries are actively represented in international standardization, so that early, consensual cooperation is effective. Finally, it is important that the achievements reached so far in international standardisation must be placed on a strong fundament and provide concrete recommendations for implementation. This is particularly important true for an early positioning and discussion of new Industry 4.0 concepts in an international comparison.
