Elexo Laminated Flexible Shunts are multilayer copper connectors engineered for high-current transfer in systems where mechanical displacement, thermal expansion or installation tolerances must be absorbed without transmitting stress to terminals or equipment.
Manufactured from precision-stacked copper laminations (from 0.1 mm thickness), they ensure uniform current distribution, low electrical resistance and controlled flexibility while maintaining structural stability at the connection areas.
Available in:
Cu-ETP (CW004A) EN 13599 R290 – for dynamic applications
Cu-HCP (CW021A) EN 13599 R220 – for expansion and compensation
Cu-ETP (CW004A) EN 13599 R220 – for static power systems
Aluminium shunts (EN AW 1050A) – on request
Terminals: riveted, press-tinned, press-welded or MIG welded.
Plating options: tin, silver or nickel.
Dynamic Applications: High-current transfer in moving systems
Designed for installations subjected to repeated mechanical movement, laminated shunts maintain electrical continuity under cyclic bending and vibration.
Typical applications include:
Resistance welding machines
Moving current transfer arms
Circuit breakers and switch-disconnectors
Rotating machines
Railway and traction systems
Industrial automation equipment
They absorb movement without fatigue cracking, protecting terminals and equipment while ensuring stable performance under high dynamic loads.
Expansion & Compensation Applications: Thermal expansion management in static power systems
In high-power installations, laminated shunts act as expansion elements to compensate for thermal growth, alignment tolerances and structural settling.
Typical applications include:
Busbar expansion joints in LV and MV switchgear
Transformer and generator connections
Substation busbar systems
Industrial power distribution
Renewable energy plants (PV, wind, hydrogen)
BESS and high-power DC systems
Data center main power rooms
