Fabric filter are established for dust removal in industrial devices for years, but they ar facing
problems when filtered gas ist hot an/or liaded with flammable particles. Teflon filters reach a maximum temperature of 260°C and can easily be damaged through particles, when they burn small holes in the filtration media. These damages are difficult to sense and can in addition lead to deactivation of the system.
These problems are being solved by the new hot gas filtration MeliPlate/MeliFil materials, whichs reaches a maximum temperature of 600°C and are resistant against flammable particles, because they are made of pure metallic fibre.
Due to the resistance of MeliFil filters against higher temperature, they offer the possibility to use the thermal energy of the gas after the filtration instead of cooling it down before. The equipment for cooling the gas can be reduced or even omitted.
