ULTRACERAMIC PEO is a next-generation nanoceramic surface coating developed by ELB, based on advanced Plasma Electrolytic Oxidation (PEO) technology. The CERANOD® layer forms an atomically bonded, microstructured corundum surface – one of the top five hardest materials known.
Designed for lightweight metals such as aluminum and magnesium, this ultra-durable coating offers exceptional resistance to wear, corrosion, and extreme temperatures – with hardness values up to 2,400 HV, heat resistance up to 2,000°C, and over 2,000 hours of salt spray corrosion protection.
The layer thickness (8–200 µm) and surface roughness are highly adjustable, enabling precise tailoring to application needs. ULTRACERAMIC PEO also serves as an excellent base for additional coatings like PTFE, paints, adhesives, or industrial sealants.
Key Benefits:
- Extreme hardness and wear protection
- Superior corrosion and thermal resistance
- Maintains ductility and lightweight characteristics of the base material
- Compatible with a wide range of alloys
- Excellent for multi material applications
Typical Applications:
Aerospace, Medical & Pharmaceutical, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive, Oil & Gas, Robotics, Packaging, Architecture, and more.
