The aim of Standardization roadmaps is to bring important basic requirements closer to the actors in the respective thematic area and to support their fulfilment. In a broad range of knowledge domains, they also serve as clear signposts and promote exchanges between experts and ensure better understanding and cooperation. In the past year, two important and elementary standardization roadmaps have emerged in the context of Industry 4.0.
SCI 4.0 STANDARDIZATION ROADMAP INDUSTRIE 4.0 – VERSION 4
The standardisation roadmap Industry 4.0 is a core document for the coordination of the German I4.0 stakeholder landscape and acts as a "door opener" for SMEs. The fourth edition addresses and focuses on important foundations for the design of the digital ecosystem and interoperability in the networked production world. The document has a very concrete motivation, namely, to develop and take up action recommendations that can be implemented and to involve all those interested in the Industry 4.0 process in Germany.

DIN/DKE STANDARDIZATION ROADMAP ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI)
For artificial intelligence, standardization roadmaps also enable the systematic processing of converged technologies (complex topics across bodies) and a basis for discussion and exchange between experts from different domains (z.B. automotive, IT, energy). They thus ensure a better understanding, as they bring all the important stakeholders up to the same level and offer new committee staff a thematic introduction.
The Industry 4.0 perspective will be mapped and further fleshed out in the context of the work of the SCI4.0 Expert Council for Artificial Intelligence in Industrial Applications.
