Companies that distribute Open Source software in products receive support from OSADL in many respects. On the one hand, this concerns the license-compliant distribution of the software itself and, on the other, the introduction of suitable processes throughout the company.
*The OSADL FOSS legal knowledge database:
OSADL member companies can ask OSADL legal questions relating to Open Source, which are answered by OSADL's General Counsel. Questions and answers are then included in the collection of legal FAQ and made available to all OSADL members.
*OSADL Open Source License Checklists:
Over 100 Open Source license texts have been analyzed with regard to license obligations and translated into checklists. These checklists can be used to select specific use cases under which Open Source software is used and distributed.
*The OSADL Open Source Policy Template:
A company-wide Open Source policy should ensure that suitable processes are established within the company and that all employees are reliably informed and trained on how to deal with Open Source software. As different industries and different companies have different requirements for the content, form and scope of a compliance policy, OSADL offers an Open Source Policy template on the basis of which an individual Open Source policy can be created.
*The OSADL Container Base Image:
To enable license-compliant redistribution of Open Source software in containers, OSADL provides a Container Base Image along with all the materials needed for license-compliant redistribution.
*OSSelot - The Open Source Curation Database:
To reduce unnecessary parallel work in license compliance, OSADL provides a community-based curation database with the OSSelot project that provides reusable FOSS compliance information.
