Special Display + Forum "Energy 4.0"
Managing Power, Heat and Mobility Towards Sustainable Manufacturing
No industrial transformation without energy transition. The entire decarbonization of industrial properties, processes and projects, from energy supply to production processes, plants and buildings to commercial vehicle and employee fleets, supply and waste management, is one of today's key challenges.
Hall 12 at HANNOVER MESSE will provide the necessary overview and long-term perspective on the energy turnaround with a view to electricity, heat and mobility in the industrial and commercial context. Six important core topic clusters are united under the thematic bracket ENERGY 4.0:

Heat and resource turnaround in Japanese and German industry
April 22, 2024, 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. | ENERGY 4.0 Stage
CO2-neutral process heat ("green" heat) | Waste heat recovery | Resource-efficient production
The efficient use of resources and the introduction of sustainable production methods are among the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to which both Japan and Germany have committed themselves.
Process heat is needed in many industries to generate steam for melting and drying processes, for electroplating, pasteurizing or for thermal separation processes. How can these quantities of heat be provided in a carbon-neutral way in the future? This is one of the biggest challenges facing industry in Germany as well as in Japan. In addition, resources must be used efficiently by closing material, water or heat cycles.
How do German and Japanese industrial companies plan to convert their heat supply to "net zero"? What technologies are available for supplying factories with "green" heat? Where can valuable resources be saved? How can Germany and Japan learn from each other's processes?
Experts from German and Japanese business and politics will discuss these issues at the 17th German-Japanese Business Forum at HANNOVER MESSE.
