The EMKA swivel handle made from recycled plastic
The main components of the re-use handle are made of environmentally friendly plastic, 90% of which is made from recycled and bio-based granulate. This material has the same chemical structure as the previously used plastic. The processing properties as well as the service life, durability and disposal properties are identical regardless of the material.
In terms of feel, the swivel handle made from recycled plastic does not differ from the tried-and-tested standard product made from PA6. The product properties also remain unchanged. The handle is available in the standard color black.
The use of recycled material may in some cases require new approvals for the material, particularly with regard to flame retardancy requirements. Recycled materials are therefore best suited for standard products. The material used comes from suppliers who are continuously working on the development of new, environmentally friendly materials for industrial applications.
Future prospects
With the new swivel handle on recycled plastic, EMKA offers an environmentally friendly closure that meets customer requirements for sustainable products. EMKA is now taking the next step with the new swivel handle made of recycled plastic, thus fulfilling the wishes of numerous customers who have explicitly requested sustainable products. The recycled plastic material used for the swivel handle has no disadvantages compared to the materials used in the regular product lines. This means that the production process can be adapted for other products if demand continues.
For EMKA, making production as CO2-free as possible is the major challenge that needs to be met in the coming years. To this end, the company has already implemented numerous steps towards sustainable production and is therefore on an exemplary path in the industry.
