156 selected Indonesian companies represented at HANNOVER MESSE 2021
To be a participant in HANNOVER MESSE, a company must undergo a range of curation processes done by the government. This year, the process of deciding who will and will not be involved in the big event is reaching its final step. Once chosen, all participating industrial sectors will display modern technology in their production processes.30 Mar 2021
"The HANNOVER MESSE 2021 will be a very important momentum for us to spur national branding as well as encouraging the improvement of manufacturing capabilities and digital infrastructure within the country," said the Director General of Regional Resilience and International Industry Access, (KPAII) of the Ministry of Industry, Eko S.A. Cahyanto in Jakarta, Thursday (4/3).
He also explained that several companies had submitted their registration forms to be the participant of Hannover Messe 2021, "In parallel, we have also prepared a National Secretariat team that will assist the co-exhibitors start from the registration process to uploading digital contents to the HANNOVER MESSE 2021 platform," he said.
During the registration period, up to 182 companies showed interest in being involved in the event and registered on the IndonesiaHM202.id page.
The curation process revealed that 155 of the potential participants were selected to be the official participants of HANNOVER MESSE 2021. The selection consists of large-scale industrial companies, small and medium-sized industries (SMIs) and startups, industrial estates, industrial associations, Government-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), as well as ministries and institutions.
The HANNOVER MESSE 2021 event will be held digitally on 12–16 April 2021 via an online platform which will be supported by Deutsche Messe AG, the event organizer. In the HANNOVER MESSE 2021 Digital Edition, the Government of Indonesia still carries the theme of “Making Indonesia 4.0” and the tagline of “Connect to Accelerate.”
The tagline is the root of the spirit to encourage the desired synergy to support the growth of industry 4.0 in Indonesia. "Apart from reflecting Indonesia's synergy, it is also an invitation for other countries to work together with Indonesia to connect and develop," Eko added.
According to Eko, gaining connection is highly possible in this event since companies are gaining global exposure and a wider range of networks. "Whether it's exposure to potential buyers and investors; or exposure to the latest technological developments in other countries (benchmarking)," he said.
In addition, the digital format of HANNOVER MESSE 2021 may ease participants to build networks and initiate collaboration with other co-exhibitors, "At the end of the day, we hope such collaboration can accelerate global market opportunities for exports," he added.
With an average of over 140,000 attendees, HANNOVER MESSE is well known as the largest manufacturing technology exhibition in the world. Eko believes that such exposure opens doors to great opportunities for Indonesian industries. He refers to the digital HANNOVER MESSE as a chance for participants to maximize their online presence and make contact with potential buyers while maintaining health protocols.
As part of the HANNOVER MESSE 2021 agenda, the Indonesian government has prepared some collaborations in industrial sectors, both in a framework of Government to Government (G to G) and Business to Business (B to B). "If there are participants who have initial plans to validate their cooperation at the HANNOVER MESSE 2021 exhibition, they can contact the National Secretariat to get the government's facilitation," he explained.
The event will feature the digitization of product presentations, various conference themes, and software-based business matchmaking. Therefore, HANNOVER MESSE is not only an exhibition of how technology is used to solve problems in the industrial sector but also a platform representing breakthroughs and innovation in said sector.
Previously, the Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita emphasized that being the official partner for the HANNOVER MESSE 2021 Digital Edition is a great opportunity for Indonesia to manifest the vision of the national industry and globally introduce the road map of “Making Indonesia 4.0”.
"The participation in the Hannover Messe event will be the best opportunity for us, not only to perform benchmarking towards industrial technology 4.0 but also to gain a number of potential investments to Indonesia," he said.
