Every month, the Baden-Württemberg State Agency for Lightweight Construction Leichtbau BW highlights a different innovative lightweight solution as a ThinKing. At the end of the year, one of the twelve winners is honored as ThinKing of the year. The final prize for 2018 went to Emm! Solutions , a company based in Weil der Stadt near Stuttgart. In developing the ILO1, it came up with a one-seated electric vehicle that weighs just 450 kg. The vehicle can credit its incredibly light weight with the consistent use of carbon and 3D-printed parts in the structure. Four ILO1 models are already licensed for street use; a fifth vehicle is currently in the process of being approved following technical improvements. The ILO1 will be presented at Leichtbau BW’s stand (Hall 5, C18) at the Hanover Fair in early April.
Not just the vehicle itself is particularly noteworthy, but also its rapid completion process of just four months from development through construction. This was made possible by a completely digitized process chain based on the Accelerated Innovation GmbH platform. The company from Hechingen on the edge of the Swabian Jura has also already won a ThinKing.
