A data infrastructure based on European values
Industrial production feels like it is in a state of permanent upheaval, currently driven by data rooms, data ecosystems and the cloud. The Gaia-X Community stand at HANNOVER MESSE 2024 will allow visitors to experience an alternative version of this transformation first-hand through various exhibits.

According to the German Academy of Science and Engineering (acatech), Gaia-X is the next generation of a sovereign data infrastructure: an open, transparent and secure digital ecosystem in which data and services can be made available, collected and shared in a trustworthy environment. The architecture of Gaia-X is based on the principle of decentralization. Gaia-X is made up of many individual data owners (users) and technology players (providers) who all adopt a common standard of rules and control mechanisms - the Gaia-X standard.
The Gaia-X community is thus creating a new trustworthy concept for a data infrastructure based on the European values of openness, transparency, sovereignty and interoperability. The result is not a new cloud infrastructure similar to existing solutions on the market, but a federated system that connects many different cloud service providers and data owners on the basis of common standards. This ensures data exchange in a trustworthy environment and promotes the creation of new shared data spaces for the digital economy.
To illustrate exactly what this means, eight exhibitors from the Gaia-X community will be presenting how sovereign data exchange and new cloud infrastructures can revolutionize the industry at stand F25 in hall 8 at HANNOVER MESSE 2024. On an exhibition area of 237 square meters, the Gaia-X Community stand aims to offer an optimal introduction to data-based value creation, especially for medium-sized companies.
