In view of the challenges posed by the energy turnaround, decarbonisation and the desired independence from the import of fossil fuels, deep geothermal energy is also moving back into the spotlight as an alternative option. According to the DMT Group, leader of the engineering division of TÜV NORD GROUP, deep geothermal energy should be able to cover at least 25 percent of Germany's heat energy demand. In order to achieve this, however, the political course must now be set quickly and unbureaucratically. "All actors must pull together to create the right framework conditions for this. A national exploration programme, exploration risk insurance and accelerated licensing procedures are the key levers to achieve this," says Dr Maik Tiedemann, Managing Director of DMT.

Experts provide information on the entire portfolio of services

DMT will therefore be using HANNOVER MESSE 2023 as an opportunity to provide information on the advantages and disadvantages of geothermal energy on site (Hall 12, Stand F03). Proven experts will also be discussing DMT's entire geothermal service portfolio, which covers all aspects from project planning, permits, site investigation and the drilling programme to plant planning, plant construction and the commissioning of a heating plant. In addition, a vibro-truck, which is used in the exploration of geothermal potential at depths of several kilometres, can be examined directly at the exhibition stand.

Convincing through information and assistance

"We want to use HANNOVER MESSE to enter into dialogue with as many stakeholders as possible who also want to drive forward the heat transition in Germany," explains Prof. Dr. Bodo Lehmann, Head of Geo-Energy & Resources at DMT. "With decades of experience from hundreds of geothermal contracts in Germany and abroad, DMT can accompany cities, municipalities, energy suppliers and industrial users in the development and use of the unlimited heat potential of deep geothermal energy," adds Dr Boris Dombrowski, Deputy Head of Geo-Energy & Resources at DMT.

Other topics at the TÜV NORD stand

In addition to the geothermal energy topic, DMT will also be presenting the online monitoring platform for integrity monitoring at the TÜV NORD GROUP stand D69 in Hall 13 and will be represented by experts from the Indonesian energy and mining sector. Interested parties are welcome to contact us in advance of the trade fair and arrange a meeting with the experts.
