With its investment in the new company building, ifm electronic GmbH, which is actually based in Essen, is underlining its commitment to the Lake Constance region. A modern two-storey company building with a spacious 7,600 square metres of floor space is being constructed in the Bechlingen industrial estate, which will provide space for around 200 employees from the equipment manufacturing and training departments. The construction site is located in the immediate vicinity of the company's existing production and development site.

With the new building, the company aims to consolidate all areas of equipment manufacturing at one location. Previously, the teams were spread across two locations – in Kressbronn and Langenargen. Centralisation will optimise work processes and increase the effectiveness of the departments. The company's trainees will also benefit from the expansion. The modern building will house all the facilities required for high-quality training in the fields of electronics and mechanics in one place – providing the ideal conditions for their future start in professional life.

ifm is also demonstrating its regional ties in the implementation: Georg Reisch GmbH & Co. KG, another company from the region, was commissioned as the general contractor. Construction has already begun with the first earthworks, and the building is expected to be ready for occupancy in early 2027.
