Franka Emika is leading the way in the design and development of innovative, high-performance, self-learning and user-friendly lightweight robots. Its creations are used to automate frequent but usually monotonous tasks that previously had to be done by hand, such as delicate insertion, screwing, joining, testing, inspection and assembly tasks. In 2017, the team at Franka Emika received the German President’s Award for Innovation in Science and Technology (Deutscher Zukunftspreis) in recognition of its development work. Based on this success, the company has launched the world’s first CE out-of-the-box solutions for industrial applications and, at HANNOVER MESSE 2018, initiated a strategic partnership with technology company Voith.

One element of this strategic partnership is a joint venture called "Voith Robotics - A Voith and Franka Emika Company" that will operate as a global system provider for robot-assisted automation in the digital age. Voith Robotics will provide customers in various industries and markets worldwide with Franka Emika’s lightweight robots and the associated software solutions, apps, services and consulting.
