ActiveCockpit takes care of warehouse logistics

Equipment and accessories belonging to the Buderus Group brand are stored in Wetzlar. Heating engineers can place orders there until 8 pm and have parts delivered the very next day. The industry’s strong seasonal fluctuations mean that orders can vary between 3,000 and 6,000 parts per day. Bosch Thermotechnik now relies on the interactive communication platform ActiveCockpit in order to better keep track of outgoing goods . It was developed by Bosch Rexroth and has so far been used in production . Thanks to the similarity of the processes, it also works in logistics, providing key figures on output and the utilization of human resources.
While such data had to be slowly and painstakingly extracted from the SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) system to date, ActiveCockpit can now read the raw data independently and leverages an additional forecasting tool to generate up to four key figures: processed, not yet released, dispatched, and expected items. The order processing status is updated every 15 minutes, and the software also provides a preview of the expected workload, thus avoiding bottlenecks and overcapacities. Bosch Thermotechnik plans to use ActiveCockpit at its other locations as well.
