How can technology, creativity, and children’s perspectives be brought together? Weidmüller explored this question through a special project: Through collaborative creative work with students at the Peter Gläsel School, a children’s book was created that introduces young readers to the world of Weidmüller in a playful way.

The story and design of the children’s book were developed by Weidmüller’s marketing team. The children from the Peter Gläsel School in the Detmold Educational Village also played a central role in the process: After the story was presented to them, they drew and described the characters based on their own imagination. These sketches then formed the basis for further developing the characters using generative artificial intelligence. In this way, the book combines children’s creativity with modern technological possibilities.

In terms of content, the children’s book takes children on a journey of discovery through the world of Weidmüller. In an age-appropriate way, it shows how exciting technology can be, the role that curiosity and inventiveness play, and how ideas can lead to solutions for the future. The focus is not on technical explanations, but rather on a playful approach to topics that are also central to Weidmüller: innovation, collaboration, and shaping a future worth living.

To celebrate the book’s release, Weidmüller is giving away a total of 200 copies of the children’s book. Every child who visits Weidmüller World in downtown Detmold during this period will receive a free copy—while supplies last. Weidmüller World is located at Lange Straße 25 in Detmold. The exhibition “Experience Apprenticeships” is currently taking place there. This exhibition is intended to provide an opportunity to explore potential fields of apprenticeship and learn more about them. The regular opening hours of Weidmüller World are: Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
