Phoenix Contact, a specialist in components and systems in the field of electrical engineering, electronics and automation based in Blomberg, Germany, offers a particularly well-thought-out housing for a wide range of electronics with the new MCS series, which is designed to impress at all levels: from the installation of the printed circuit board to easy assembly and maintenance of the device. With a modular design, the housing offers a high level of practicality, according to its developers.
The Monitoring Case System (MCS) is said to be ideal for field devices in the field of sensor technology as well as for IoT and IIoT applications. Thanks to the IP65/IP67 degree of protection, the housings can be used in industry without any problems. Alternatively, an IP40 variant is also available. The sloping edge of the housing allows the printed circuit board to be mounted almost horizontally. This allows the pre-assembled connectors to slide through the holes in the housing. Thus, the maximum PCB surface area can correspond to the housing surface area, maximizing the use of the installation space. In practice, the electronics housing impresses with additional hinges. These hinges are subsequently inserted into the housing and connect the upper part of the housing and the cover to the lower part. This leaves the hands free for maintenance or installation work. The seal is also connected to the housing in a loss-proof manner.
Users can put together a wide range of solutions for their application from standard components, optional accessories and the extensive range of connection technology. The MCS is available in three sizes and with different frame and cover variants. In addition, the housings can be customized using printing and labeling options, as well as mechanical processing.
