"Give me your most difficult part and I'll find a solution," said Günter Blase. He deliberately took a risk to win "Pierburg," his first customer. After all, there were two children at home to look after and money was tight back then, in 1964. He had only just founded igus together with his wife Margret and the first injection molding machine had not yet been purchased. The order from "Pierburg" was therefore urgently needed. To make a long story short: Günter Blase naturally solved the task set for him and got the order. The rest is history, as the saying goes. What has remained is the self-confidence with which igus still faces challenges today. The Cologne-based specialist for lubrication-free high-performance plastics is recognized as one of the innovation drivers of its guild. At HANNOVER MESSE 2022, the Rhinelanders will almost certainly once again be able to convince many customers of their products, for example the new i.Sense EC.W.

Thanks to the low-cost lifetime sensor, optimizing plant availability should be cheaper than ever before. Real-time condition monitoring for gliding energy supply systems is made possible by connecting the i.Sense EC.W directly to the PLC machine controller via potential-free contacts. For this purpose, the service life sensor is mounted on one of the last opening stays on the fixed point side and records the current ACTUAL condition of the chain side parts with sensor technology from the in-house igus 3D printing; either directly for the PLC system control or via optional i.Cee module for comprehensive monitoring systems. With the i.Sense EC.W, users can thus avoid downtimes and increase plant availability more easily - and above all more cost-effectively - than ever before.
