Automobile production spearheads automation
In its new study, the consulting firm Ernst & Young takes a look at the working world of the future up to 2030. The digital transformation has just begun.

The EY study “Future Of Work Now” gives an outlook on the further development of digitization and Industry 4.0 in Germany and its German-speaking neighboring countries. The most important findings: The problem of finding suitable professionals and filling vacancies adequately will increase over the coming years. Around 3.5 million fewer workers will be available to German companies from 2030 onwards. According to estimates, the number of jobs in automobile production will fall by around 50% due to the high level of automation. On the other hand, according to the study, the IT and finance sector will grow strongly over the next few years.
Ernst & Young recommends that, in the future, companies should pay more attention to introducing meaningful corporate purposes that are supported by the entire organization.
