The ‘ Startup Ecosystem Report ’ from the Institute for Innovation and Technology (iit) has identified 16 startup centers, 11 incubators, 18 accelerators, and 102 coworking spaces in Berlin. These support services are stimulating a thriving startup scene, from which 26 industrial startups also benefited last year. The report rates all startups according to certain criteria, such as financing through external investors and overall innovative impression, and presents the top five. 5thIndustry , which strives to simplify the creation of maintenance orders with a mobile app, topped the ranking, followed by AiSight , a young company that specializes in artificial intelligence (AI) for manufacturing. Dive Solutions , Material Machines , and Sensical also made it into Berlin’s top 5 industrial startups.

Young companies can be extremely interesting for established companies. According to a recent PwC study , half of all startups cooperate with experienced partners from industry.
