Altair, a global leader in computational intelligence, and L&T Technology Services (LTTS), a global digital engineering and R&D services company, have jointly announced the creation of a digital twin center of excellence to accelerate digital transformation. The Digital Twin Center of Excellence (CoE) will provide cutting-edge digital twin solutions to joint customers in the mobility, high-tech and sustainability sectors worldwide, enabling best-in-class digital twin technology for greater innovation and efficiency.
Five key areas
The future CoE will focus on the following five areas: AI-supported engineering to transform products, systems and processes; simulating new use cases with innovation labs; predictive maintenance; rapid product development to shorten real-world test cycles; and practical training.
Always at the forefront of progress
"In a world characterized by ever-accelerating technology and market pressures, this initiative will help companies stay ahead of technology trends, maximize the value of their investments, and bring better, more mature products and processes to market faster," explains Stephanie Buckner, Chief Operating Officer, Altair. "Our advanced approach, combined with LTTS' expertise, will help teams to better design, build, test, optimize, evaluate what-if scenarios, perform predictive maintenance and extend the remaining useful life of their products without physical prototypes. And Abhishek Sinha, Executive Director and President Medical, Smart World and Functions at LTTS adds: "The strategic partnership with Altair will revolutionize the landscape of Digital Twin technology. By leveraging LTTS' unique cross-domain engineering expertise and Altair's exceptional simulation and data analytics capabilities, we will redefine industry standards in areas such as mobility, sustainability and high-tech. Together, we aim to achieve breakthroughs that will shape the future of technology integration."
Leveraging existing expertise
LTTS has extensive experience in Digital Twin technology and has several CoEs in its development centers. Its Digital Twin for Line Operations boosts performance through virtual commissioning, efficiency monitoring, predictive maintenance and root cause analysis using real-time and inventory data. It supports strategic digital transformations and offers modular implementation and role-based access. In addition, LTTS has developed a digital twin with more than 54 machine learning algorithms to automate the operation of oil rigs.
