The life cycle of a mobile machine involves an extremely wide range of interests. A machine's developers deal with it differently from those who are later responsible for ensuring it is used efficiently or maintained. Digitization is the key to meeting these various requirements, particularly in view of machines' increasing levels of automation and electrification. Generic solutions don't just enable different types of access and interdisciplinary communication - they can even open up new business models.

As a specialist in all three areas - digitization, automation and electrification - and with years of experience in offering and creating electrical and electronic solutions for mobile machines, Sensor-Technik Wiedemann GmbH (STW) is now launching a new software suite for its tried-and-tested TC3G and TC1 on-board connectivity and data management modules. "machines.access", "machines.insight" and "machines.cloud" are designed to meet all the needs of the various interest groups. While "machines.access" is geared toward developers and expands the in-house IT network more or less as far as the machine, "machines.insight" supports a number of functions, including parameterization and configuration of the on-board telematics modules. Finally, STW is positioning the "machines.cloud" IoT platform to create a generic platform that enables open interfaces and thus communication with any ERP or logistics systems.
