According to Managing Director Dr. Stefan Hartung, Mexico, this year's partner country for the Hannover Messe trade fair , is and stands to remain an important market and a hub for Bosch's global manufacturing and development network. Fueled by the mobility industry, the country has developed into an industrial nation in recent years. The new factory is expected to go into operation in 2019 and become state-of-the-art: among other things, there are plans for a manufacturing execution system that automatically collects data and provides real-time production information. The entire production system in almost all of the twelve Bosch plants in Mexico will also be equipped with an intelligent control system by the middle of 2019.
Control units for the Mexican and American markets will be produced on an area of 21,000 m² in Celaya, central Mexico. In addition, a logistics center, which will also serve as warehouse for the new plant, will be built on the neighboring property. The 1,300 m² factory of the future , which Bosch is planning to present at the Hannover Messe trade fair in Hall 17 at the main booth A40 , is a little smaller, but equally promising.
As reported by the German Engineering Federation (VDMA), Mexico is Latin America's most important sales market for the German engineering industry . Machine exports rose by 28% to 2.9 billion euros up to and including November 2017 compared to the previous year. German machine suppliers have participated significantly in the manufacturing sector's noticeable upward trend in Mexico since 2009.
