Every current-carrying cable has a certain reactive power dissipation or capacitance, which is primarily determined by the dielectric constant of the material, as well as by the structure and insulation strength. For power supply to motors with a high load in particular, the lowest possible capacitance is required, so that the cable has less tendency to act as a capacitor, generating less heat and transmitting power more efficiently. This is why automation specialist Friedrich Lütze has expanded its portfolio to include modern motor supply cables with significantly improved low capacitance.

The cables exhibited at HANNOVER MESSE 2014 not only have the above-mentioned properties, they can also now cover much longer lengths. Lütze's low-capacitance cables are available in several versions. Cables for variable frequency drives such as SILFLEX B XLPE (C) PVC 0.6/1kV are used to connect a speed-controlled drive unit to the motor, and are generally in a fixed position. For mobile applications and use in energy chains, Lütze offers motor cables such as SUPERFLEX PLUS M (C) PUR SERVO.
