At a charging station, power resources are limited. When setting up more than one charging station, one thing quickly becomes clear: the required connected load grows with each additional charging point. If this energy demand were always met at 100 percent, in the worst case scenario, additional cars would have to wait until enough capacity was available again. Intelligent control of resources and energy flows is therefore the basis for efficient and economical operation of charging infrastructures. Dynamic load management is the magic word here.

The basic prerequisite for dynamic load management is smart charge controllers, such as those now being presented by the Grünberg-based company Bender at HANNOVER MESSE 2023. For the market leader in the field of monitoring systems for electrical safety, the choice of charge controller is a fundamental decision with which the future functionality of a charging station is significantly influenced. With its intelligent charge controllers, Bender wants to lay the foundation for AC charging stations that are to be characterised by innovation, economy and safety.

Through its many years of experience in the field of electrical safety and the flexibility of a start-up, as well as through established partnerships with manufacturers of charging infrastructure, Bender is also continuously developing its charging controllers and their software. The aim is always to offer solutions that meet the requirements of the application today and - taking into account normative and legal changes - also those of the future to a high degree.
