Cobot with reasonable muscles
Yaskawa's latest achievement is a 30-kilogram cobot. Its exceptionally high payload makes the new Motoman HC30PL particularly suitable for palletising applications without protective fences.
Share
Yaskawa was already able to successfully implement numerous cobot palletising applications with its predecessor model HC20DTP. Now the Japanese robotics specialist has expanded its portfolio with a special cobot palletiser: the HC30PL. With an even higher payload of a maximum of 30 kilograms, it can now also take on heavy order-picking tasks that are arduous and a strain on employees' health in the long run - for example, palletising and depalletising in warehouses.
Optional scanner optimises cycle times
The HC30PL has an ample reach that enables it to fill standard Euro pallets up to a height of two metres without gaps. Thanks to its safety system, which is designed for collaboration, there is no need for a safety fence, so that the robot can be easily integrated into existing environments in a space-saving manner, despite the traffic of people and forklifts. If the optional floor scanner is also installed, which permanently records the exact distance between man and robot, the working speed automatically adapts to the respective situation, up to the full speed of two metres per second.
Simple programming on the Smart Pendant
Yaskawa also simplifies programming with the modern "Smart Pendant" operating device. The newly developed Smart Pattern Wizard software guides the operator through the individual steps to create different palletising patterns. Using just a few reference points and pattern information, the Wizard creates the robot programme, which can then still be conveniently edited in the Wizard. Those who prefer to use traditional programming and professional tools can also do so via the teach pendant and the comprehensive PalletSolver software.
Fast commissioning with the Yaskawa ECOSYSTEM
Thanks to its standard connection flange, which is common in the cobot world, and its media cables (inputs and outputs, Ethernet and two air lines) routed in the arm, the robot can be equipped with grippers and accessories in a very short time. Components from all leading suppliers are available for the HC30PL. The prerequisite for this is Yaskawa's ECOSYSTEM partner product programme introduced in 2022: an online network of various peripheral products and complete systems, especially for cobot palletising.
Plug & Play solutions as a package
In addition to numerous partner products, the Yaskawa Robotics ECOSYSTEM also includes Yaskawa products such as drives, linear axes or software packages. The main focus is on Plug & Play solutions, which are available as a package with complete mechanical, electrical and software integration and can be integrated immediately. Currently, there are already more than 110 products to choose from.
