In the project "Innovation Cluster Hydrogen Land Saxony", companies and research institutions from Saxony act in a coordinated manner to optimize cooperation between academic research and industry and to increase the innovative strength of companies. Particular attention is paid to the balance of small, medium-sized and large companies. The companies work together with universities and research institutes to develop new products and processes using largely existing production facilities and existing expertise. This enables existing SMEs in particular to participate in the newly emerging competition without having to make significant investments in advance.

The cluster is supported by the HZwo e. V. association, which provides technical and operational support to members in the field of fuel cell vehicles. The consortium partner Energy Saxony e. V. supports the cluster members in the field of "green hydrogen". The overlap in content results in considerable synergy effects. Both associations form the Saxon competence center for fuel cells and green hydrogen. This covers the entire value chain from hydrogen production to fuel cell vehicles in Saxony and networks all relevant players in Saxony. In addition, the activities of both associations cover the administration of the cluster, project activities and public relations work.

At HANNOVER MESSE 2024, HZwo and its partners will be exhibiting at a joint stand in Hall 13 as part of the exclusive Hydrogen + Fuel Cells EUROPE community. The majority of the 500 or so exhibitors from the hydrogen and fuel cell industry will be concentrated at this special HANNOVER MESSE event, which HZwo is not alone in expecting to generate unique synergy effects. In the Technical Forum at Hydrogen + Fuel Cells EUROPE, Hzwo and its partners will be presenting the latest developments and products in short talks alongside other exhibitors.
