Murrelektronik, a global player in automation technology, is committed to optimizing machine and plant installations and thereby making its customers more competitive. A key factor in these efforts is decentralization. For Murrelektronik, this means using innovative concepts and new technologies to create the optimum connection between the control cabinet and sensor actuator levels in machines and plants. In doing so, the company pays special attention to safety technology, high-performance power supply systems and a wide range of network installations. Murrelektronik has now opened up a new route on the road to Industry 4.0. Its compact control cabinet component nexogate serves as an interface - or a key - to a dedicated cloud service.

What sets this service apart is that it transfers data from control and IO components in machines and plants directly to the cloud. This solution is designed to provide easy, straightforward access via a wide range of devices, regardless of location. And nexogate is set to be the interface that gets data from the factory floor to the cloud. This control cabinet component can be integrated into the communication system (Ethernet or PROFINET) as an additional participant and uses the cellular network to transfer data to the Murrelektronik cloud. The major advantage of this method is that data can be transmitted independently of the IT infrastructure at a given location. What's more, users can transfer the data to their own cloud system using a suitable LAN connection.
