How can artificial intelligence contribute to becoming a game-changer for society, science, and industry? With its infrastructure and technical expertise, Forschungszentrum Jülich aims to ensure that the technology’s potential is exploited to the fullest extent possible. As an experienced and reliable partner for business and industry, it combines cutting-edge research with practical solutions for future-oriented topics in the fields of information, energy, and the bioeconomy.
Information
Jülich’s scientists aim to reinvent computing. They are doing pioneering work in the fields of artificial intelligence, quantum computers, and neuromorphic computers, and operate JUPITER, one of the world’s most powerful supercomputers for AI. In addition to technical information processing, they are researching how the human brain processes information.
Energy
Jülich’s research aims for an energy system based on renewable energy that limits climate change. Sun, wind, and storage technologies instead of coal and oil: Jülich scientists are researching and optimizing the technologies for this. They view the future energy system as a whole and demonstrate how the transition to a climate-neutral future can be achieved quickly and economically.
Bioeconomy
Jülich scientists are researching how biological resources can be sustainably utilized for new applications in chemistry, energy production, and pharmaceuticals. The goals are a competitive bio-based circular economy and the development of solutions for adapting to climate change.
In Hall 11 at HANNOVER MESSE 2026 (Booth B22), interested visitors can learn more about the technologies and innovations and thus benefit from the expertise and strong networks of the Jülich researchers—as well as from the spin-offs also present in Hannover, which directly translate the Research Center’s scientific excellence into practical applications.
