The report investigates the potential for innovation in cybersecurity in the energy transition. In addition to current trends, the report also presents cyber innovations that help the transformation of the energy system to cope with the increasing threats from cyberspace.
“The digitization of the energy system is an indispensable prerequisite for the success of the energy transition. However, the associated increasing number of actors and technologies as well as the constant networking of different processes also increases the potential for possible cyber-attacks. The protection of critical infrastructure in the energy system is therefore of particular importance – all the more so in view of the current political situation. Our report contributes to the discussion in order to set the topic of cyber security in the energy industry as an innovation topic and a design factor suitable for the energy transition," says Andreas Kuhlmann, CEO of dena.
As an innovation report, EnerCrypt lays the foundation for further projects in the field of cyber security. dena is also dedicating itself to the topic in follow-up projects and intends to act as a platform for national and international cooperation in the future. With regard to the German-Israeli energy partnership, dena will in the future also develop solutions and energy technologies in the field of cyber security in cooperation with its partners from Israel.
