Data analysts in high demand
Although there are increasingly more specialists for the evaluation of large data volumes, demand exceeds supply. Consulting firm Bain recommends turning to both external specialists and internal training.

For its study , Bain surveyed 200 companies and analyzed the global labor market. The study established a threat of bottlenecks, in particular in the occupations of data architect, data scientist, data engineer, and machine learning engineer. Although the number of experts in Western Europe is expected to rise to 170,000 by 2020, this will not be enough. In addition, young talent often lack practical experience. Companies should therefore both train their own personnel, through advanced analytics training programs, for example, and outsource non-security-relevant tasks to external service providers and leverage data hubs and crowdsourcing.
The high demand for appropriate specialists from companies improves the chances for those looking for a career change, as reports German newspaper the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and employment portal Wila Arbeitsmarkt , among others. Anyone with IT skills certainly stands a good chance of finding a promising job in data analysis.
