Consulting company Carmasec has presented the results of an explorative study on cybersecurity and data protection in companies . 156 decision-makers in IT departments in German companies were interviewed. Their positive assessment of state regulatory requirements is surprising. 54% of those surveyed consider the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) to be beneficial for the digitalization of their company, while the figure for the German IT Security Act is as high as 62%.
However, there are major concerns about the increasing number of cyberattacks . 51% of the respondents complain about a lack of resources, with the shortage of IT specialists again a problem for many companies: The search for cybersecurity specialists often takes three to six months (29%) or even longer (30%).
