WITTENSTEIN AG hits HANNOVER MESSE 2016 on a remarkable high in the wake of winning the 2015 Hermes Awards. The company is showcasing a number of highlights under the banner "mechatronic drive technology – fast forward". These include the first fully scalable, modular iTAS drive kit for driverless transport systems (DTS) and a new series of high-performance 6.8 kW motors for drives used in confined spaces. Headlining the bill is the completely revamped cymex 5 design software from WITTENSTEIN alpha GmbH – a multi-functional solution for designing safe, customized, cost- and energy-efficient power trains.

With its intuitive and customizable user interface, cymex 5 can simultaneously process any number of design alternatives. As part of the process, it is able to choose from approx. 14,000 motor variants supplied by more than 50 manufacturers, over 8,000 different gearheads from WITTENSTEIN alpha and more than 200 combinations of WITTENSTEIN linear systems. The smart design software ensures maximum safety in line with the loads and motions encountered, and automatically issues a notice, warning or error message if any of the individual components is subject to overload. What’s more, cymex 5 is capable of identifying downsizing potential, for instance where the chosen motor-gearhead unit could be replaced by a smaller alternative without compromising the system’s performance. Conversely, if the chosen devices aren’t powerful enough for the job, the software will advise users to modify the design accordingly.
