In cooperation with Internet of Things (IoT) specialists like Eaton, Harting, and Microsoft, Deutsche Telekom aims to offer SMEs comprehensive, adaptable IoT solutions . Depending on individual requirements and application scenarios, the company can provide its customers with the right IoT platform to suit them, including, for example, Microsoft’s Azure+ cloud platform, which customers can now access from the German cloud. In collaboration with automation specialist Eaton, Deutsche Telekom has also launched a new product called "Predictive Maintenance", with Eaton providing process control, Harting MICA sensor data processing, and Deutsche Telekom the IoT platform and connectivity.

The North-Rhine Westphalian-based Harting Group is in particular currently experiencing a great deal of success with its IIoT strategy, predominantly in the fields of mechanical engineering, automation, and robotics. It was only in fall that Harting announced its smart manufacturing participation in the Robotation Academy Foshan in China; now, with revenue growth of 14.7% , the company can look back at the most successful year in its history. Deutsche Telekom has long been active in the IoT sector, and recently founded a development center for this sector in partnership with the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics IML. The company already offers NarrowBand IoT technology throughout Germany and the Netherlands, and other European countries are expected to follow suit over the next few years.
