Diameter, gap, edge and segment must be measurable
The optoCONTROL 2700 from MICRO-EPSILON is a compact LED micrometer for the precise measurement of diameter, gap, edge and segment. The micrometer is characterised by extremely high accuracy and measurement rate. Since the controller is now integrated in the receiver, cabling and installation effort is reduced to a minimum.

MICRO-EPSILON Messtechnik GmbH & Co. KG is an internationally active manufacturer of precision sensors and measuring systems for industrial measuring tasks based in Ortenburg. With the optoCONTROL 2700, the Bavarian company offers a compact, high-performance LED micrometer that is characterised by exceptional precision, high measuring rates and easy handling. Two models with measuring ranges of 10 and 40 millimetres cover a wide range of applications in automation and quality assurance. The micrometer supports high-precision measurement of diameter, gap, edge and segment. Active tilt correction enables precise detection of objects, even if they are tilted by up to 45 degrees.
A new feature of the optoCONTROL 2700 is the optional integration of EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP and PROFINET industrial Ethernet interfaces. This means that the LED micrometer can now be integrated into existing automation and control architectures without additional gateway solutions. The connection to higher-level bus systems is made using common standard protocols (TCP/UDP), which means that measured values are provided quickly and reliably in real time. This facilitates system integration, reduces commissioning effort and simplifies end-to-end communication from the sensor to the respective bus system.
Configuration is carried out via an intuitive web interface that allows the setting of video signals, filters and various measurement modes. In setup mode, a shadow image supports the precise alignment of the measurement object. The system is designed to be insensitive to extraneous light and is also suitable for difficult environmental conditions and for measuring transparent or reflective objects. The large measuring distance also allows flexible integration into different applications.
